Boys will be boys!

If anyone is wondering what it's like to have 2 very active boys...here you go! Before getting dressed...

And after getting dressed! Max likes to move the furniture around and Jonas is right there to help!

Knuthenborg Safari Park

Last Friday we went to a safari park on one of the southern islands here in Denmark. We went with our friends, Mogens and Lene and their daughter, Julie(21 months). We had a picnic in the playground part of the park which was a big mistake because Jonas and Max were too distracted to eat. The park is huge so you have to drive to all the animals. There are parts of the park where you are not allowed to get out of your car and other parts where you can get out and pet the animals. In the tiger section, you have to drive into a caged area where they shut the gate behind you and then open the gate in front of you. One of the tigers(the tiger pictured here) we saw was resting on a tree stump or something. Mogens and Lene were in front of us in their car. Max accidentally hit the horn and at the same time Mogens was moving Julie over to his lap. Well, the tiger didn't like this and got down from his resting spot and charged over to Mogens' car! Believe it or not, Mogens had the window down and couldn't get it up! Luckily, he drove forward because the tiger was coming straight for the window. The tiger was so mad that he made a few scratches on Mogens' car! Not the best souvenir to take home from the park but it was exciting!
In the monkey section, you have to get in wagons that are fully covered with plexi-glass. You used to be able to drive in but the monkeys were damaging the cars. They give you bits of food to pour into the holes that go out to the monkeys. The monkeys, of course, know this so they jump up on the sides of the wagons and hold their hands under the holes. They were quite entertaining!
Jonas made a friend!

I think these are lemurs. Julie wanted to get up close and personal with them.
Just relaxing....
Zebras are so beautiful. Wish we could have been closer to them but they are in the "stay in your car" part of the park.

The rhinos were fighting a little with the zebras so the jeep was pushing them away.

The donkeys were so sweet. I think these 2 were hungry because they were chewing on the windows and mirrors. Max loved them!
Jonas wasn't afraid to get right up to them. He and Max are big animal lovers, thanks to Basso!
Jonas fell asleep 2 minutes after we left.

Max was tired but didn't fall asleep-unfortunately!

Max singing Caillou

One of Max's favorite shows is Caillou. He started watching it when we were at Grandpa and Grandma's for Christmas and then I bought a couple Caillou videos. He loves to sing the theme song. As you can see in the first video, I am dancing as well because the song is so cute and I have a habit of singing and dancing with Max when it's on! Sorry if it makes you dizzy!

Mountain Bike Race

Forgot to put these pictures on. Thomas had a 12 hour mountain bike race on May 8th which we also went to last year. He doesn't ride for 12 hours but the whole race is from 9am to 9pm. Max and Jonas had a great time! Thomas coming down the hill.
Going by us.

Turning the corner.

The boys wanted to try!

They play great music at the race.

Whatcha doin', Max?

When I walked in the family room the other day this is what I found...

I must say...those are some cute cheeks!

Brushing Teeth

Just thought I'd throw these pictures on here. The boys are both pretty good about brushing their teeth. When I get their toothbrushes out, Jonas runs for the bathroom. Max takes a little bit longer because he finds things to do on the way to the bathroom!

Jonas' 1st birthday party

Yesterday we celebrated Jonas' birthday with Annette, Stinne, Bedstemor, Henrik I., Tobias, Jakob, Thilde and Martin. We had a delicious lunch(thank you, Annette and Thomas) and cupcakes for dessert. Jonas loves to have lots of people around and he was all smiles(even when he was tired). It was a wonderful day! Smiling, smiling, smiling!

Everyone eating lunch. Max was taking a nap.

Jonas' present from Stinne, Henrik I., Annette, Henrik B., Lea, Tobias, Jakob, Thilde and Martin.

It's a chair just like Max's green one! Yeah! Thank you to the people named above:)

Thilde and Jonas going for a ride.

Jonas' present from Bedstefar and Bedstemor.
Bedste brought a present for Max as well.

Jonas got a tricycle from Bedstemor and Bedstefar. Thank you, Bedstefar and Bedstemor for the presents for the boys! The boys want to help put it together.

Jonas is "helping" Tobias put the tricycle together.

I think he likes it!!!

And so does his big brother!!! I asked Max to smile and he listened for once!!!

Max thinks the tricycle is his, of course. Jonas is good at sharing...Ha ha!

Jonas' birthday cupcake. He had to get that stuff off so he could eat it!

Proud parents!

Max is holding a bus that was a present from Annette. He told everyone it was his birthday, too!

Jonas enjoying his cupcake.

Max loves sweets so he loved the cupcake!
Singing to the birthday boy!

Our baby is 1!!!!!

Last night when I went to bed at midnight, I got a little tear in my eye. I was thinking about how exactly one year ago I was having what I thought was a bad stomach ache. And then I realized it was contractions and we would soon meet our second child. At 4:37 in the morning on the 6th of May, our little man, Jonas was born. He tried to trick the midwives by being up so high but when he decided it was time, he basically flew out. That's exactly how he gets around. He decides he wants to go somewhere and he's off like a rocket! I say that he is a little more "curious"(naughty) than Max was but I think I've purposely forgotten all that stuff with Max! Jonas has brought so much joy to us with his smiles and laughter. He sleeps well and eats well(weighs 11.5kg or a little over 25lbs.). Almost every night when Thomas and I go to bed we say how lucky we are to have 2 healthy, beautiful boys. LIFE IS GOOD!

Jonas likes to play a little when he eats. I make faces and he tries to copy me. I love making him smile and laugh so I can see his dimples!
