Max's birthday party

On Sunday we held a birthday brunch for Max. We had a great time but Max was so tired at the end of the day! Max's birthday cupcake.
Max was ready to grab the candles.
Mommy and Daddy helped Max blow out the candles. As you can see by his mouth, he tried to blow them out!

In Denmark, birthday parties are decorated with Danish flags. They are very proud of their flag because legend has it that the flag fell down from heaven during a war and it is the first known flag. You can barely see the little American flags that I put up in between the Danish flags. Had to have a little bit of the states in there!
We made a big brunch buffet for everyone!

Max is opening his gifts from Kajsa(and Krestina and Lars). I forgot to take a picture of the very cute onesie that said "Made with Love" and the fancy silverware with smileys on it.

Thomas had a race that day so we went to the center of the Copenhagen and watched him place 4th! Yeah, Daddy! Thomas almost rode off with Max like this but I had to put up the Mommy flag on that one!

Max is 1 year old!!!!

I can't believe it...Max is one year old today(wipe the tear from my eye). It has been a crazy year filled with lots of travelling, lots of bicycle races and most of all, lots of laughter and love because of Max. We love him sooooo much that it hurts! I cried when he was born and I still have days where I cry because I love him so much and can't believe how beautiful he is. Typical parent...I know. This is Max when he was born weighing 4326grams or 9 1/2 lbs and 54 cm long or 21 1/4 in. Now he is 9.5kg or 21lbs and 80cm or 31 1/2 in.

Max was busy today. I took him swimming and then when we came home he was practicing his standing/walking skills. Unfortunately I didn't have the camera for the other few times that he was standing and taking a few steps. You never know when they are going to do it!
