The little man is walking! He's a few months earlier than his big brother. It's funny how Max crawled earlier but Jonas is walking earlier. Just goes to show that you never know when they are going to do things.

Our trip to Kalama(a few weeks ago)
It has taken me way too long to get these pictures on here but things are busy with 2 little boys running around. Anyway, 4 weeks ago Max, Jonas and I went to visit my family in Washington. On the way over I had Thomas' parents to help me on the airplane and on the way back I flew solo!!! Fortunately I sat next to a Grandma who was visiting her first grandchild in Belgium and she was a big help. Little did I know that the plane ride would be the easy part. Once we got back to Denmark trying to get the kids(especially Jonas) back on the right time schedule was definitely the hardest part! But it was all worth it. I am so glad that I was able to see my 87 year old Grandma and that she was able to see my boys. It was great seeing the rest of my family out there as well. And as I sit here and think about how hard the trip was sleep wise, I would do it all again. You have to take every opportunity possible to see the people you care about because you never know when you will see them again. Basically, life is short and time flies by so quickly. Enjoy the people you love whenever you can! Thank you, Laurie, for a great week!

The second child
This post is all about Jonas! It is so unfortunately true that the second child gets less attention. I was so good about updating the blog with Max's milestones and I have been so bad about posting Jonas' milestones! So here goes... Jonas is a wonderful, happy and extremely curious little guy. He has been crawling for 2 months now(started pulling himself on his belly a little before 8 months) and has been pulling himself up for a tad longer than 2 months. He is a champ at cruising around our round coffee table-especially when Max is playing with some interesting toys! Jonas is a big eater which is the reason he weighs 11kg(2 kilos heavier than Max was at this time) or 24lbs. He's roughly 80cm long or 31 1/2in. He sleeps through the night most of the time and is pretty good about taking naps. 2 of his bottom teeth are in and I think one of his top teeth is peeking through as we speak. He is a great baby and we are so lucky he's ours!!!
Always smiling for the camera!
He loves to grab things on the top of this dresser. He also loves to take everything out of the drawers!

These videos were taken about a month ago so he's even faster now. If he sees something he wants(Basso's food, toilet paper, Max's toys, food on the floor), he'll put his head down and crawl like a mad man to get to it as fast as he can!

It's POTTY time...we hope!
Last night Max pottied and pooed on the toilet! I was so proud of him. He didn't want to get on it at first because he thought he would fall in. With Jonas' help, I showed Max that he wouldn't fall in. Sure enough after seeing Jonas sit on the toilet, Max was ready to try it out. He sat there for about 15 minutes. I asked him every once in awhile if he was done and he kept saying, "just a little more, Mommy." He also wanted me to shut the door. Needless to say he loves to flush the toilet. He had to do that twice :) He also went potty this morning and tonight. Of course this could be a long process with 2 steps forward and one step back but it's a start!

Sleeping together
Two big things happened last week...we moved Jonas in to Max's bedroom and we raised Max's bed. I was a little hesitant about both things but Thomas assured me they would be fine. I thought Max was too young to have a bed with a ladder but he absolutely loves it! I also thought Jonas would wake up Max if he cried in the middle of the night but(knock on wood) so far so good. As much as I hate to admit it, Thomas was right about both things!

What a Grandma!
I am lucky in so many ways. A great husband, 2 beautiful healthy children and a wonderful life. But I am also extremely lucky to have the mother(and father) I have. When Jonas was born, Mom spent 3 weeks here in Denmark to help us. She cooked, cleaned, helped with the kids and kept me sane! She spent many hours rocking Jonas to sleep(and herself at times:) ). So, when we decided to make the trip over for Christmas, Thomas could only stay 2 weeks(poor guy) and I wanted to stay longer. Being the very giving person that Mom is, she offered to fly back with me so I could stay a month. She stayed 10 days and again was a HUGE help! Mom, I will never be able to "pay you back" for all that you've done for me. You are the most unselfish person I know because you never stop giving to me and my family even if it means leaving Dad for a week or 2. You always put me(and Dad, Chad and my family) first before you think of yourself. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I LOVE YOU MORE!!!!!!
Grandma has a special way of rocking Jonas. He cuddles up to her and is out like a light!
