Thomas' dad, Jørn(Bedstefar), turned 75 on the 8th of this month. He and Birte(Bedstemor) rented a really nice summer house on the beach for the week. The boys and I got to stay the whole week but Thomas had to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Stinne and her family came for a few days, Henrik came for a few days with his son, Oskar, and Annette was able to stay the whole week. We were all there on the eighth to celebrate Bedstefar's birthday. Thank you, Bedstefar and Bedstemor for a wonderful week!
The summer house they rented had 5 bedrooms with 2 loft rooms. It could sleep 14 people! It also had an indoor pool and jacuzzi. I don't know if you can tell by the pictures but it had a thatch roof which is quite common for summer houses over here. In the above picture you can see the back side of the house where the terrace is. The boat to the right is a sand box for the kids.
We went bowling one of the days which was a lot of fun. I think it's been a good 15 years since I last bowled!!! It was Max's first time and he loved it.
They had shoes in Max's size(7-8US and 24-25EU) but not in Jonas' size. Jonas would've run down the bowling lane and knocked down the pins with his hands if we had let him bowl!

Jonas spent most of the time snacking(keeps him out of trouble) and being passed from person to person so we could all bowl.
The boys liked the bowling balls-all the different colors.
I had to get a picture of Max's shoes. I thought they were so cute!
After bowling, Thomas, the boys and I stayed and played on the cars and playground. Max loved driving the cars. It had to be the blue one which is what he wants everything to be these days.

The beaches in Denmark have a lot of sand dunes. It's amazing how windy it can be but if you find a nice secluded spot in the dunes it can be so still. Unfortunately I couldn't go out and enjoy the beautiful sunset with everyone. I was busy putting Jonas to bed.
Jakob and his best buddy, Lady. She is one the sweetest dogs. Jonas was following her around, laying on her, hitting her(which was his way of petting) and even kind of biting her and she just put up with it. Wish all dogs were so sweet! Jakob will be living in New Zealand for a year as a part of the Rotary exchange student program. He leaves on the 22nd of July. Max will miss him greatly!
